My body is not sized to fit in most bras. I'm quite wide around, but I don't have much "up top" so to speak. I found the Amoena style 2123 years ago and it fit me perfectly. I was thrilled to finally have a bra that fit and was comfortable! Unfortunately, that style was discontinued in 2009 and I can no longer find them. Style 2114, by all appearances looked the same. Since I desperately needed bras, I bought four - two black and two in nude. The bras that arrived are so different in size from the Style 2123, I was in shock! They are almost 2" shorter around than my old bras. And even between the brand new bras, the nude colored ones were smaller than the black ones. Shouldn't 42" be 42" no matter what? I know that the actual size and shape of the cup varies from bra to bra. But the band measurement should be a constant. I'm going to return them for a larger band size, but I'm not holding my breath that everything will fit correctly now.

Amoena Response: You are correct a 42 should be a 42, but sometimes the color can make a slight difference. When you dye the fabric sometimes the material will shrink and colored bras do fit a little bit more snug than nude bras do. The 2114 and 2123 are both shallow fitting bras but are different in appearance. We are sorry that you are unhappy with the bra. May we suggest the NEW Amoena Ruth Soft Cup Bra 2873 instead. I am tiny by height 5'2" and weigh 100 lbs or under depending upon weight fluctuations... Mostly muscle mass with little fat, as I exercise. I have gone for many professional fittings, the last one being recent. I was always measured as a B cup. The bra cups never fit that well and the straps never shortened enough to lift me up. This is either due to my height or where the breasts are located in relation to my torso (?). I have tried on literally 100s of bras, which never fit properly: never supported. And so, I decided to measure by Her Room's guide and discovered that I am an A cup, not a B cup. And don't be fooled by the A cup, who cares what the letter is...(from appearances, those who know me assumed that I am a B-C cup anyway). Additionally, I look younger with the girls finally receiving proper support. And so, if you require real support related to the straps and cups (both of which are comfortable and yes, A cups require support, as well) and desire a genuine fabulous look in your clothing, then this is the bra for you! Basically the bra was what I expected however I was hoping the cups were padded more. As a person who has had a mastectomy I could not use it unless I put cups in so I was glad it had pockets to do that.

Amoena Response: If you are looking for a bra that has more padding may we suggest the Lara bra 2674 . It is a molded cup bra. It does run a little big in the cup so you would go down in the cup than what you normally wear.. Patron from Pa

Straps were to short and nonadjustable need longer straps and adjustable

Amoena Response: The Bella 2114 is a shallow fitting bra by Amoena standards and has the construction in the back of a “ballet back”. The straps do come in a little shorter. This allows them to sit on the shoulders better for women who have slopping shoulders. All of our bra straps do adjust some lengths. Margo from Ca. 92395

It is pretty comfortable, but I do find the seam across does make it pucker. I would rather a smooth front. It does look old ladyish and that is a disappointment. Looks better on the modle. However, I am hard to fit and it serves my purpose better than most these days. PL from NY

The photo shows a much smoother bra cup than the product. Front seam causes a puckering effect on me and creates a kind of 60's pointy effect. MK from Los Angeles

I had previously purchased the Dorothy, I was happy with it, and thought the Bella would be comparable, since the Dorothy was discontinued. It fit well when I tried it on, but after one washing in only warm water, and line drying, it shrank, and it is no longer comfortable without an extender.

Amoena Response:Amoena bras should be washed in cold water with a mild lingerie wash and line dried. We haven't heard of any problems in the past with this bra shrinking. Also, not all bras will fit the same, even though they say the are shallow fitting bras. A 38A does not mean that it will fit the same in another style bra. G.B. from The Villages, FL, USA

Would prefer a little more padding but this bra is comfortable, with wide straps and bottom so no roll up -- like a sports bra without being T-back, and a pull over. Fit is excellent. Tina from FL

Though I usually wear a B cup the C fit perfectly. I think the cup size runs a bit small so order accordingly, construction is good quality and it is attractive. I have a hard time finding a bra in a size 46 but there were several sizes including those with a prosthesis pocket which is what I needed. Thanks Janice from C'ville VA

This is a well-made, quality bra, however it did not fit me At All. I wear size 42A bras from other bra makers. This Amoena Bella bra has very small and shallow cups. I know that A is a small cup, but usually on a size 42 band, the cups are much larger than these were. For example, I really like the fit of Leading Lady bras, and their size 42A fits me perfectly. On the Amoena Bella, the cups were set close together and were rather flat. Other reviewers have loved this bra, but for me it was a very poor fit.

Amoena Response: The bra is set in closer because it has a ballet back for women that have shoulders that might slope or have a problem with straps falling off their shoulders. Not all bras fit the same when it comes to different manufacturers and you might be a 42A in one style bra, but a 40B in another. Bras do fit differently on everyone. I'm typically a 34AA, but being 8 months pregnant I found that my normal bras were very uncomfortable and cutting off my circulation. I found this bra by searching on HerRoom for maternity bras. My husband and I measured very carefully according to the instructions for maternity bras on the site and found that I should get a 36A. It is a very good fit for not having tried it on. I have to say, it's is still a little tight around the ribcage and I was surprised by the fact that the A cup was practically filled even though I added a cup size for when the baby comes. I will probably be ordering more bras from this site after giving birth. One other thing to note is that this bra comes up pretty high so you can't really wear it with low cut tops and the straps aren't very narrow so they show with a lot of shirts.
