Nearly Me was the brainchild of Ruth Handler, who was the creator of the Barbie doll and a format Mattel CEO. A breast cancer survivor herself, Handler saw a gap in the market for forms for post-mastectomy women. The available forms were not realistic or comfortable. So in 1976, she used her resources to develop Nearly Me, a line of forms that would help countless women feel and look better after surgery.
Since then, Nearly Me has expanded to include more accessories and breast enhancement forms. The current collection includes breast forms, breast enhancers, attachable nipples and rear enhancement forms and panties. Unlike older foam breast forms, Nearly Me products are made from silicone that molds itself to breast tissue. Supple and soft, the silicone breast forms feel like real breast tissue, in both weight and movement.
Breast forms are available in several shapes and have a protruding nipple for a natural look post-mastectomy. The breast enhancers are made of a soft silicone gel and can enhance cleavage as well as add cup size. They are also ideal for women with uneven breasts.
Nearly Me also offers the Transform bra line, with wire-free cups of soft mesh that have an interior pocket to hold inserts. Women looking for some bottom enhancement will love Nearly Me Hip & Rear padded panties and the stand-alone covered rear pads. The padded panties are constructed with individual pockets to hold pads strategically at hips and rear.
All Nearly me accessories and forms are manufactured in the United States, using American labor and material. Sold globally, the breast forms have become a market leader in post-mastectomy wear.
