Leading Lady Companies is the world's leading manufacturer specializing in quality lingerie and sleepwear for mothers-to-be and new moms. Leading Lady Companies also produces full-figure bras, sleep-leisure bras, post-mastectomy bras, and other specialized lingerie and accessories.
Leading Lady Companies was founded in 1939 by Frank G. Farino. He saw a business opportunity when the bra fitter who had employed him went out of business. Farino accepted two sewing machines in lieu of vacation pay, then purchased the company's existing inventory. He named the new enterprise Leading Lady Companies, and made a success of the business from the beginning.
Farino branched into maternity intimate apparel out of necessity. During the Second World War, fabric rationing led to a downturn in the foundation business, with the exceptiong of maternity bras, which were considered medical items. The ever resourceful Farino, won a contract for Leading Lady Companies to manufacture maternity bras for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
With the onset of the baby boomer era in the 1950s and 1960s, demand for maternity intimate apparel increased tremendously. As that generation has matured, another mini-boom has occurred. With research findings, and recommendations from the medical community supporting breast-feeding, the demand for maternity and nursing bras continues to be strong.
Leading Lady Companies intimate apparel is carried by major retailers nationwide. A selection of bras and camisoles is available to you at herroom.com today.
