In the language of style, the name Natori stands for luxury, fashion, and femininity. Begun in 1977 as a one-woman venture, The Natori Company has grown into a powerful force within the lingerie industry. The company’s influence is based on an extraordinary track record of innovation, design sophistication, and quality that has altered the nature of the fashion business.
Today The Natori Company has four brands, all sharing a distinct design vocabulary but each with its own personality, price range and customers.
At the top of the range is The Josie Natori Collection, a lifestyle collection that encompasses pieces designed to be worn both at home and out on the town. Characterized by luxurious fabrics and modern silhouettes, these versatile “soft separates” are in a category of their own.
The Natori Collection shows fine laces, exclusive prints—many with a distinctive East/West sensibility—and such hand-worked details as intricate embroidery that speaks to the woman with an appreciation for quality and a taste for luxury. A licensing agreement with Dana-Co extends the polished look to Natori bras and underwear.
Josie, a fun and slightly bolder line, is designed for the contemporary customer who loves bras and panties with curvy silhouettes, dramatic details, whimsical prints, and playful loungewear in engaging colors.
Growth for Natori has always been an organic process building upon the core strengths of the company, including an intuitive understanding of women’s lifestyle needs and wants. Fall of 2006 brought the launch of Natori Home, a collection of home textiles including bedding, bath, and other accessories. The new collection is the result of a licensing agreement with JLA Home. Today The Natori Company, headquartered in New York City, employs more than 600 people at its manufacturing plants in the Philippines, and utilizes manufacturing facilities and resources in Turkey, China, and Southeast Asia.
Consistently ranked by affluent women as one of the world’s most recognizable luxury brands, Natori has grown substantially while remaining committed to the vision that inspired Josie Natori from the start.
"I believe you must remain true to your identity, as a person and as a company," says founder and CEO Josie Natori. "At each step in our evolution we ask ourselves, Is this consistent with our philosophy? The design and quality must be true to the Natori aesthetics and sensibility. I guard that with a passion!"
